The Uphouse is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everday life. Neither cell phone reception or Internet. It was wonderful to wake up each morning and look out onto the loch and surrounding hills of Sutherland. It is also a great base from which to explore other parts of the Sutherland and Ross and Cromarty coastlines. Our Read morehosts were very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Stunning location in a wondeful landscape. The hosts were very friendly and helpfull. The house itself was welcoming right away with everything we needed including the open fireplace. I can recommend trout-fishing in the regional lochs and a lot of walks near the cottage but also in the whole area.

Amazing views from the living room window - the loch, mountains, a little white house, sheep! Useful to bring a few provisions as the local Spar is fairly limited. Beautiful scenery - amazing rocks, beaches, birds especially. Reminder to softy Southerners like us to bring warm, waterproof clothes and just go out anyway and enjoy the wildness!

We had a fantastic stay at the Uphouse. Beautiful scenery in a cosy cottage. Property does have an enclosed garden but I feel that other customers should know it is shared with the owners dog.
