Request a guide to re-opening your holiday home*

This year we have faced challenges not seen before in the tourism industry. But despite these challenges, we remain optimistic about the future of the UK holiday market and holiday cottage owners respectively.

As our owners look to the future and start re-opening their holiday homes and welcoming guests again, we also want to offer support wherever we can to ensure guests can return to enjoy a great British staycation.

One measure we have taken to support our existing owners is to produce a guide to help with the re-opening of their holiday properties – when the time is right, of course. As this could provide useful information to all holiday home owners, whether letting with us or not, we are pleased to make this same guide available to all.

Whilst we recognise every property is unique, the guide forms the first part of the plan in helping to recover bookings for our owners and includes detail on:

  1. Marketing activities - planned to deliver bookings
  2. Reviewing your property - property descriptions, pricing strategies and securing positive reviews
  3. Cleaning guide - PPE, guidance for cleaning & disinfecting properties, products and pre-opening checks
  4. Social distancing - how to manage arrival of guests

Marketing activities 

Our Marketing team has been busy behind the scenes planning our longer-term campaigns. A sneak preview of some of these campaigns is included in this guide. These initiatives will stand us in good stead well into 2021 as consumers begin to search for their next staycation.

Reviewing your property 

Our team of local property account managers will continue to work closely with their local owners, reviewing ways to enhance the booking potential of their properties. Working with the wider performance team and taking into account industry trends alongside guest research, this section of the guide details some of the steps our property account managers will take to support owners, including optimising pricing, updating property descriptions and ensuring they capture positive guest reviews.

Cleaning guide

There may soon be a nationally recognised cleaning standard. But in the meantime, we have produced this content based on a broad range of publicly available information, designed to highlight practical considerations which you can apply in your own holiday home. The list is by no means exhaustive and, as each property is unique, it provides owners with a platform from which to start planning.

Social distancing 

Whilst social distancing measures remain in place, we have included references to some measures which you and/or your local representative may wish to consider when managing the arrival process.
