CHALET STYLE ACCOMMODATION IN LARGE GROUNDS WITH A PLEASANT SCENIC WALK TO BEACH

This modern style chalet bungalow is set on a hillside with views over the garden within a charming setting. The perfect retreat for relaxing and exploring majestic Exmoor, the Somerset coast and beyond.

5 minutes walk takes you to Blue Anchor Bay, an ideal spot full of wildlife, large 2 mile beach, promenade, 2 pubs with restaurants and lovely gardens, a hotel, cafés, large indoor heated swimming pool and historic steam railway station, all of which are open all year round. A shop with newsagent and off-licence is seasonal. Excellent for walkers and dog owners, with coastal and countryside walks from the property and the Quantock Hills and Brendon Hills being within a short drive. Exmoor National Park is 2 miles away and is the second designated International Dark Sky Reserve in the world. Dunster, a picturesque medieval village with its magnificent castle, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants and extensive wild wooded estate for biking, walking and exploring is 10 minutes drive. Visit during the first weekend of December and enjoy the renowned Dunster by Candlelight event which is great fun with its street entertainers, carol singers and 'olde worlde' atmosphere. Also a short drive away is the sandy Dunster beach (near Dunster Steam Railway station) which has a pleasant lawn area and good facilities, including excellent refreshments, shop and cafe. With so much to see and do in the immediate vicinity you may not need to use the car however the many attractions of the wider area ensure that there is plenty for everyone. Alternatively, relax on the decking or garden, both enjoy sunshine all day and into the evening, ideal for sunbathing, alfresco dining and watching the sunset.

The accommodation offers THREE bedrooms: 1 large double with TV/DVD, en-suite shower room and WC, dressing room and french doors onto the decked area. 1 small double with TV/DVD and 1 single. Bathroom: with shower over three quarter bath, WC and washing machine. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan, conservatory style lounge with TV, freeview and DVD. Kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave. Outside: large, raised illuminated decked area overlooking the enclosed south facing garden with seating. Additional small patio area with seating and lounging chairs. Amenities: private off-road parking for 2 cars. Bed linen, towels, electric, electric heating and Wi-Fi included. 2 dogs welcome, please ensure that dogs are kept on a lead at all times, only in the enclosed rear garden are dogs allowed off their leads. Additional info: dog towels provided, outside tap for muddy paws! Telephone for incoming calls only. Location: beach, shop (seasonal), restaurant and pubs within walking distance.

The cottage is gust lovely nice big garden the dogs loved it . A very nice pub just down the road nice walks on the beach a good time had by all

Best place for dogs. Made so welcome with all essentials provided. ....towels,extra bowls and pooh bags. Good sized,safe garden too.

We had an Excellent week and the lodge was like home from home and very well equipped. The scones with clotted cream and Jam on arrival was a lovely touch and the dogs loved the enclosed garden and nice to have bowls and towels especially for them too. Would definitely recommend.

Overall good property. Plenty of cooking equipment. Beds comfortable. Only annoying thing were the curtains which were hard to close especially as there was a lot of them. Scones and cream were a nice gesture.

Love the south facing patio and garden, quite and secluded, made apple crumble with cooking apples from the tree in the garden. Great that it is in the middle of area where you can get to rural and coastal towns of interest.

A very peaceful setting, with wonderfully private back garden, very close to the beach which isn't at all busy. All facilities provided and lots of very helpful information on all sorts of local and regional things (fossil hunting, nearby walks, star gazing, etc.) Nice to have good patio furniture provided, as well as barbecue trays!

Lovely accomodation, perfect for a family of 4 or 5 or 2 couples sharing. A large amount of extras provided, beach mats, books, dvds, games, parasol, highchair, laundry airer. Garden is alot more overgrown than the picture shows but is lovely and completely secluded. Master bedroom with ensuite is gorgeous. Kitchen has everything necessary for cookRead moreing meals.
