This modern style chalet bungalow is set on a hillside with views over the garden within a charming setting. The perfect retreat for relaxing and exploring majestic Exmoor, the Somerset coast and beyond.

5 minutes walk takes you to Blue Anchor Bay, an ideal spot full of wildlife, large 2 mile beach, promenade, 2 pubs with restaurants and lovely gardens, a hotel, cafés, large indoor heated swimming pool and historic steam railway station, all of which are open all year round. A shop with newsagent and off-licence is seasonal. Excellent for walkers and dog owners, with coastal and countryside walks from the property and the Quantock Hills and Brendon Hills being within a short drive. Exmoor National Park is 2 miles away and is the second designated International Dark Sky Reserve in the world. Dunster, a picturesque medieval village with its magnificent castle, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants and extensive wild wooded estate for biking, walking and exploring is 10 minutes drive. Visit during the first weekend of December and enjoy the renowned Dunster by Candlelight event which is great fun with its street entertainers, carol singers and 'olde worlde' atmosphere. Also a short drive away is the sandy Dunster beach (near Dunster Steam Railway station) which has a pleasant lawn area and good facilities, including excellent refreshments, shop and cafe. With so much to see and do in the immediate vicinity you may not need to use the car however the many attractions of the wider area ensure that there is plenty for everyone. Alternatively, relax on the decking or garden, both enjoy sunshine all day and into the evening, ideal for sunbathing, alfresco dining and watching the sunset.

The accommodation offers THREE bedrooms: 1 large double with TV/DVD, en-suite shower room and WC, dressing room and french doors onto the decked area. 1 small double with TV/DVD and 1 single. Bathroom: with shower over three quarter bath, WC and washing machine. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan, conservatory style lounge with TV, freeview and DVD. Kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave. Outside: large, raised illuminated decked area overlooking the enclosed south facing garden with seating. Additional small patio area with seating and lounging chairs. Amenities: private off-road parking for 2 cars. Bed linen, towels, electric, electric heating and Wi-Fi included. 2 dogs welcome, please ensure that dogs are kept on a lead at all times, only in the enclosed rear garden are dogs allowed off their leads. A very peaceful setting, with wonderfully private back garden, very close to the beach which isn't at all busy. All facilities provided and lots of very helpful information on all sorts of local and regional things (fossil hunting, nearby walks, star gazing, etc.) Nice to have good patio furniture provided, as well as barbecue trays!

Lovely accomodation, perfect for a family of 4 or 5 or 2 couples sharing. A large amount of extras provided, beach mats, books, dvds, games, parasol, highchair, laundry airer. on arrival, well impressed with chalet but after a short while you start noticing improvement opportunities. The location was perfect and the final directions to get there were very useful. We walked to Watchet on the second day and got the train back to Blue Anchor. There were plenty of interesting places to visit during the week The dogs loved the enclosed garden. Could easily return for a second spell.

THIS PROPERTY HAD AN ENCLOSED GARDEN WHICH WAS PERFECT FOR MY DOG. THE CHALET WAS IN A QUIET AREA WITH PLENTY OF PARKING, THE BEACH AND SEA WERE A SHORT WALK AWAY AND BLUE ANCHOR WAS VERY QUIET BUT HAD TWO PUBS FOR MEALS AND A CAFE. A clean and tidy chalet in a quiet and secluded position. The decking overlooking the secluded garden and out on to the fields beyond is an absolute delight. The Lodge at Blue Anchor was just perfect - and the welcome cream tea was a wonderful surprise. The layout of the lodge was excellent and the new master bedroom with en-suite was really comfortable. The garden outlook from the decking gave a sense of space yet retained a feel of seclusion.

Loved the place, reasonably quiet apart from the nearby rookery and spring maintenance going on around us but we tuned out and didn't notice after the first day. Dogs happy with the garden, well equipped kitchen, master bedroom good size and bonus of en-suite. Would definitely go again.

We stayed at the Blue Anchor Lodge for a week in Oct. We were impressed; it was lovely, bright, clean and welcoming. The cream tea was a great gesture. The lodge has everything you need and more from a holiday rental. The enclosed rear garden is ideal for dogs and the doggie bags and dog towels are a nice touch. No complaints whatsoever very pleaseRead mored as its an ideal location for visiting the area. Blue Anchor Bay is a short walk away and both the pubs and cafe are dog friendly. We manly used the Blue Anchor Pub in the evenings for food, good pub grub nice beer and very friendly, even the locals talk to you and we were made to really feel at home and as I have said dog friendly. One thing you do need is a torch at night as there are no street lights and you do have to walk the road to get back from Blue Anchor Bay. Hide
