5 minutes walk takes you to Blue Anchor Bay, an ideal spot full of wildlife, large 2 mile beach, promenade, 2 pubs with restaurants and lovely gardens, a hotel, cafés, large indoor heated swimming pool and historic steam railway station, all of which are open all year round. A shop with newsagent and off-licence is seasonal. Excellent for walkers and dog owners, with coastal and countryside walks from the property and the Quantock Hills and Brendon Hills being within a short drive. Exmoor National Park is 2 miles away and is the second designated International Dark Sky Reserve in the world. Dunster, a picturesque medieval village with its magnificent castle, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants and extensive wild wooded estate for biking, walking and exploring is 10 minutes drive. Visit during the first weekend of December and enjoy the renowned Dunster by Candlelight event which is great fun with its street entertainers, carol singers and 'olde worlde' atmosphere. Also a short drive away is the sandy Dunster beach (near Dunster Steam Railway station) which has a pleasant lawn area and good facilities, including excellent refreshments, shop and cafe. With so much to see and do in the immediate vicinity you may not need to use the car however the many attractions of the wider area ensure that there is plenty for everyone. Alternatively, relax on the decking or garden, both enjoy sunshine all day and into the evening, ideal for sunbathing, alfresco dining and watching the sunset.
The accommodation offers THREE bedrooms: 1 large double with TV/DVD, en-suite shower room and WC, dressing room and french doors onto the decked area. 1 small double with TV/DVD and 1 single. Bathroom: with shower over three quarter bath, WC and washing machine. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan, conservatory style lounge with TV, freeview and DVD. Kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave. Outside: large, raised illuminated decked area overlooking the enclosed south facing garden with seating.
