Secluded rural property situated within its own five-acres of private woodland, making it a wonderful space for a relaxing break away from the stresses of daily life.

This property enjoys a tranquil rural location in the mid-Somerset countryside, within walking distance of a welcoming pub. There are miles of walks to be enjoyed direct from the property’s front door, however, guests may prefer to explore the nearby Blackdown Hills, or perhaps enjoy a day hiking on Exmoor which is around twenty miles away. For a change of scene, the county town of Taunton is just six miles away, whilst the seaside towns of the Dorset and Devon coasts are within a forty-five-minute drive, including Beer, Seaton, Lyme Regis, and Charmouth.

This wonderfully secluded property makes a fantastic location for a peaceful break, and guests will easily be able to make themselves feel at home here. The first of the property’s two lounges is a lovely cosy space with a beamed ceiling and warming wood burner, as well as a TV/DVD. The second lounge, meanwhile, is a light-filled room with a hi-fi and comfortable seating making it a great space for cosying up with a good book and a pot of tea. The kitchen/diner has a large dining table seating six, and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher, whilst the washing machine is kept in a separate utility room. There is also a convenient shower room on the ground floor, with a shower and WC, whilst the main bathroom with a bath, handheld shower, and WC is locate on the first floor, along with the bedrooms. Two of these bedrooms are double rooms, whilst the third is a twin room. Outside, there is a large private garden, which is mainly set to lawn, with an additional patioed seating area. Guests should be aware that there is an enclosed ornamental pond in the garden, so children will need supervising around this. Beyond the garden, the property benefits from five acres of private woodlands which guests are free to explore, which gives access to a further seven acres of wild woodland. There is ample off-road parking available.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

We have gone away October Half Term for a decade and this was the best cottage (house!) weve had the pleasure of staying in. It felt like being in somebodys home in the best way possible - excellent facilities, incredible range of books for all tastes and interests, and the grounds are incredible. Couldnt recommend strongly enough.

What a little gem of a cottage, so many surprises, it just kept on giving! From the hidden deer sculptures to the unexpected Arbortum, and a summer house too! Such comfy beds, a huge range of reading material, a wonderfully appointed kitchen and a great log burner (I must visit in the winter next time). I really enjoyed the walks through the woods,Read more discovering all the paths (and quite a bit of bush whacking through no-path areas) and the variety of birds in the garden was a delight. This is a lovely property, set in beautiful surroundings. The house is simply but well-furnished, and the grounds are perfect for any family member. The many trees and birds add to the delight of being here. In addition, the selection of (many) books on the shelves is excellent! We had a lovely stay here.

Beautiful, peaceful, charming and luxurious. My dream home made real. Kids loved the swing and the woods. Dog loved the garden and woods. We loved it all! Local pubs great too.
