These two delightful semi-detached cottages are set within the grounds of the owners' home, on the edge of this idyllic village, with impressive mediaeval Church, and breathtaking views over surrounding countryside. Being only 2 hours from London, the cottages make an easy 'get away from it all' holiday location.

Visiting one of the many film locations and National Trust properties such as Montacute (Wolf Hall, Sense & Sensability), Stourhead (Pride and Prejudice, Emma) and Barrington Court (Wolf Hall) are a must and Longleat with its famous Safari Park is great fun for adults and children alike. For those who like a flutter, Wincanton Racecourse is just 3 miles away, or take the short drive to the south coast with sandy beaches such as Weymouth, Lyme Regis, Chesil Beach, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door being well worth a visit (all approximately 45 minutes drive). The cottages are both south facing and offer views over the surrounding garden with its small pond, to the fields beyond. Early risers have often spotted local wildlife, frequent visitors include deer, foxes and swallows return every year in summer, and the owner's own pets add to the country ambience. Walkers and cyclists are well catered for with circular routes direct from the cottages. If that seems too energetic, why not take a short drive to one of the many pubs/restaurants or just sit back, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful part of the country.

Shared utility: use of the adjacent laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside: Large shared enclosed garden area with pond and driveway. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and Wi-Fi included. No smoking in the cottages. Additional info: welcome pack on arrival. Regret no children under 7 or babies. Arrival: 4pm.

Bright and well laid out accommodation offering ONE bedroom: double with large fitted wardrobes and en-suite shower room with WC. Lounge/diner: with TV/DVD and hi-fi. Kitchen: via a stable door with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and many useful extras. Outside: patio with garden furniture. Amenities: 1 small dog welcome.

The cottage was delightful, lovely and warm with every facility we could have wanted. The cottage was immaculate and the owner must considerable effort into keeping it so. It is the smaller of two holiday cottages and both look out over a large lawn area with a pond, and adjoining fields sheep. Parking is very convenient.
