This chocolate box cottage has been lovingly furnished, offering stunning views over the Blackmore Vale yet just two hours from London by train, it’s a perfect pace to escape.

This picture postcard cottage sits in a pretty village location in Cucklington and is a great base from which to explore the three counties of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire, including Shaftesbury with its farmers market. Walkers and cyclists are well catered for with numerous circular routes direct from the village and ever popular Cheddar Gorge slightly further afield. Similarly, the stunning south coast with fabulous beaches at Bournemouth, Swanage, Weymouth, Lyme Regis and Chesil, as well as the world-renowned scenery at Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, is also slightly further afield but worth a visit. Other attractions accessible include the historic spa city of Bath, Wells, the smallest city in England, National Trust Montacute and Stourhead, Longleat Safari Park, Wincanton Race Course, Bath and West Showgrounds and Salisbury.

The approach to the cottage is breath-taking, as its elevated position allows superb views of Blackmore Vale. Entering the property into the kitchen/diner, cook, eat and chat whilst preparing a meal in the well-equipped kitchen with an electric Aga, Range style electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Wander on to the lounge with an impressive inglenook fireplace with multi-fuel stove and comfy sofas, a cosy place to relax to watch TV or read a book. Walking on there is an inner hallway with utility area housing the washing machine and a ground floor shower room with WC. Head up the staircase from the inner hallway to a good size snug with sofa bed, TV/DVD, books and games, a great room for children. Heading back to the kitchen/diner the main staircase leads up to the first floor where you will find the three bedrooms, a king-size with en-suite shower room with shower and WC, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. The accommodation is completed by a superb bathroom with hand-held shower over roll-top bath, separate shower and WC.

Stepping outside the beautifully landscaped and private garden has a level lawn area, a great place to sit and relax. There is a patio area with garden furniture and BBQ, perfect for a spot of al fresco dining. There is ample off-road parking for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

If youre looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday then look no further. The cottage is chocolate box pretty and the garden is lovely, you get sun most of the day and evening and its not overlooked at all. Great for walkers, cyclists and dog walking, views superb. Very comfortable beds and sofas.

Old wheel Wrights is in a great location, so close to everywhere we wanted to go to. Cottage was very comfortable indeed, fabulous kitchen and a good sized garden. Lovely local walks for our dog too

We enjoyed a wonderful week in very cosy and comfortable surroundings. The cottage kitchen was very well equipped and the whole property was furnished in a comfortable way to a high standard. The pretty garden was secure and relaxing for our dog. Very interesting and good walks right from the property.
