A beautifully converted barn located on the edge of Somerset’s Quantock Hills. An ideal spot for those looking for a peaceful, relaxing countryside break.

Situated in an idyllic location at the end of a private lane, this 17th century former cider barn oozes laid-back style and tranquility. The owner’s property is adjacent, but privacy is assured during your stay. The cottage makes a fantastic base for exploring the whole county, with the Quantocks offering ample walking opportunities, from leisurely strolls to more challenging walks, including the Coleridge Way. The closest towns are Taunton and Bridgwater, with both offering a range of high street shops and leisure facilities. Clarks Village is also nearby, as is Dunster’s medieval castle. You can also travel the steam train from Bishops Lydiard to the seaside town of Minehead. The split-level cottage retains charm and character throughout, offering a spacious but cosy living space with toasty underfloor heating. Approach the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner via a small oak staircase with seven steps before entering the light, airy room. Here you can relax in front of the TV or watch a DVD during the evening or a rainy day. The kitchen area is fully-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher, as well as a washing machine. There’s also a dining table with seating for four, overlooking the garden. The large, airy bedroom has a king-size bed and exposed beam decor, and there’s a shower room with WC. Step out of the French patio doors into the back garden, where you’ll find seating and a BBQ for you to enjoy on fair, warm days. There’s also a patio to the front of the property, plus ample off-road parking.

Extremely peaceful location, no internet access or mobile signal but this added to the feeling of being away from it all. Walks from the door.
