Ideal couple’s getaway in an attractive barn conversion on the owner’s non-working farm in the Somerset countryside, less than a half-an-hour drive from the stunning beaches of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

This property enjoys a fantastic location in South Somerset, close to the county’s border with Dorset. The area surrounding the cottage has much to see and do, whether guests fancy a quiet countryside break, or a busy holiday filled with activities. The World Heritage Jurassic Coast is just fifteen miles south of the property, with Lyme Regis and Charmouth beaches both offering the opportunity to hunt for fossils. Or why not pay a visit to the vast sweeping beach at West Bay, otherwise known as Broadchurch? There are plenty of interesting towns to explore in the area, including Beaminster and Axminster, whilst more unusual attractions such as the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Pecorama, and the Seaton Tramway make for fun days out.

This single storey property makes a great place for a couple to enjoy a quiet and relaxing break. The main living space is a light-filled open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which has huge bi-fold doors which allow guests to open up the space onto the patio. The deep sofa allows guests to sit back and enjoy the TV/DVD, whilst a dining table is the perfect space for enjoying romantic meals. The kitchen area, meanwhile, is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, and fridge. The bedroom, which is just off the living area, has a king-size bed, bedside tables, and plenty of storage space in the wardrobe. The en-suite shower room offers a shower and WC. Outside, there is a patio garden to the front of the property, with garden furniture and a BBQ, making a great space to sit and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. There is ample off-road parking available next to the property.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

We loved the cottage, friendly welcome and so comfortable. Unfortunately the location of the cottage was further from the coast than we would have liked.

Could not fault the property. The owners were friendly and welcoming. The facilities inside were very good and the immediate location around the property was good. Our only comment was that for us the location was a bit more remote than we anticipated.

The cottage was clean and the shower was wonderful, however the bed was very hard and we did not have one good nights sleep. There was a lovely bunch of yellow roses and a tray with goodies on to welcome us but we ended up coming home early because of the bed.

The cottage was spotless , It had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable , The Welcome pack was an added bonus bread, milk, butter, tea, coffee, sugar, home made Marmalade and free range eggs and wine in the fridge brilliant!
