Characterful period cottage situated in the popular village of Cheddar, known for its spectacular limestone gorge.

This property enjoys a secluded hillside location just five minutes from the centre of the village of Cheddar, with its famous gorge, range of shops, tearooms, and pubs. The picteresque Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty can be found just outside the village, offering miles of attractive walks, cycling, and horse rides, all with splendid views to be enjoyed. A little further afield, the pretty cathedral city of Wells can be found nine miles to the south of the property, close to which is Wookey Hole, a fascinating attraction, home not only to the famed caves, but also a range of museums, shows, and play areas.

Entering this quaint cottage, guests come straight to the welcoming lounge, the focal point of which is the large stone fireplace which now houses the warming woodburner, bringing a lovely cosy atmosphere to the room. The room is furnished with two comfortable sofas, perfect for relaxing in front of the TV/DVD. Off to the side of the lounge, a doorway leads through to the kitchen/diner, a charming room with exposed beams and an attractive homely feel. The table here comfortably seats four, whilst there is also an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher. Wooden stairs lead to the first floor, where there are two bedrooms. The first of these is a king-size room which is approached through a low cottage-style doorway. The second bedroom, meanwhile, is a restful twin room. The shower room, also on this floor, offers a shower and WC. There is off-road parking for one car, located immediately in front of the property.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Cosy little cottage. It was great for 2 adults and two young kids. Plenty of room to spread out, and never felt cramped. Internet and smart tv were a bonus, great for catching up on tv when kids in bed. Log burner was also fantastic for the chilly nights. Location was superb. A short walk to all the tourist stuff in the Gorge. The local pub The WhiRead morete Hart did some nice dinners and local ale. The Village was an ideal base to explore places such as Wookey Hole, Longleat and the coast. Hide

Lovely, cosy cottage with lots of character, in a great location to Cheddar. Short walk from the village where there are plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops. Owners were very welcoming and helpful, would definitely stay again.

The cottage was beautiful, and if i was being REALLY REALLY fussy then i have 2 comments. Parking with a big car is tricky, but not impossible, and although the cottage was very dog friendly, there is no back yard (or front yard for that matter) to let man's best friend out for a quick wee at 0300 in the morning, the only solution is walking the stRead morereet outside. But i am being VERY critical, it was a lovely place. Hide

The cottage was in a perfect situation: a short five minute (if that) walk to the centre of Cheddar Gorge and ten minutes to the village where there was a Sainbury's and a Tesco Express. Only a short drive to nearby places such as Weston Super Mare, Wells and Clarks' Outlet - no more than a thirty minute drive. Bath was a little further. Would recoRead moremmend 'Park and Ride' there. Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Several pubs to eat in and the caves etc in Cheddar were good value. Hide
