This recently developed former World War II transporter has now been converted into this luxurious holiday accommodation within the owners'  grounds tucked away enjoying a quiet space, just off the owners small touring site.

Enjoying an elevated position 1 mile from the charming village of East Harptree that rests on the edge of the picturesque reservoirs and within easy reach of Chew Valley Lakes that offer some of the finest walks around the lakes and the surrounding countryside. The village benefits from a village run shop and popular pub. Having some fine views from the private decking area of the sedate rolling hills and over in the distance to the cities of Bristol and Bath that are within easy reach. The historic city of Bath, with its stunning architecture and wealth of activities, is a must when visiting the area, offering the vibrancy of a city yet the intimacy and character that you would expect.

This charming accommodation offers: ONE double bedroom, with en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath with shower attachment and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: makes the most of the views. Lounge area with wall mounted TV, with DVD and Freeview, i-Pod dock and woodburner. Kitchen area with integrated electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment. Amenities: ample off-road parking. Bed linen, electric, electric heating and Wi-Fi included. Regret no smoking. 1 well-behaved dog welcome. Regret no washing machine. Location: beach 16 miles, shop and pub 1 mile.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

We stayed at The Viewing Platform the week 'the beast from the east' met storm Emma. Despite outside temperatures of -8, inside was warm and cosy, the central heating complemented by a log burner. The accommodation is appropriately decorated for it's history and location. We found Cheddar Gorge, Bath, Bristol, Wells and Glastonbury all within easy Read moredriving distance. A weather related issue we had was dealt with by Debbie and her team, making us feel nothing was too much trouble. We will return! Hide

If you want an escape to the country in a quirky,comfy place this is for you. Everything you need, gorgeous comfy bed, stunning views ,even in winter, and lots of character. So we didn't mind staying in when it rained and it was a perfect base for exploring the area with lots of locall walks for the dog.

The viewing platform was in the right place slightly secluddd from others and next to lovely walks which is fantastic when you want to take your pets but also tranquility for yourselves
