This property is situated in a particularly pretty part of the Somerset countryside, in a secluded rural location. The village of Wedmore is three miles from the property, and is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing afternoon of browsing the boutiques, and sampling the offerings in the local pubs, restaurants, or the well-regarded deli. Just outside the village, Wilkins Cider is a popular destination for visitors to try an authentic version of this local favourite, and has even featured on Jamie Oliver’s TV programme. Further afield, Cheddar Gorge is eight miles from the property, offering picturesque walks, thrilling rock climbing, and fascinating cave tours. A set of external stairs lead to the front door of this property, which opens up to the living accommodation on the first floor. The spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a great space in which to relax and enjoy spending time together, with its comfortable sofas, beamed ceiling, warming wood burner, TV/DVD. The dining table, in the centre of the room, comfortably seats six, beyond which is the kitchen area, which is well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. A separate utility room houses the washer/dryer. On the ground floor of the property there are two stylish and well-sized bedrooms. The first of these is a spacious king-size room which benefits from having its own TV, as well as an en-suite wet room with shower and WC. The second bedroom is a twin room with a beamed ceiling. The bathroom, also on this floor, is contemporarily styled and offers a shower-over-bath and WC. Outside, there is a patio area with garden furniture, which is exclusively for guests’ use, whilst guests also have access to three acres of enclosed wildflower meadows and orchards. There is ample off-road parking available.

The cottage was superb. Absolutely everything was supplied. The owners, John and Mary went out of their way to make us welcome. An excellent base if exploring the West Country.

When we arrived we were made so welcome by the owners John and Mary. When they took us inside their lovely cottage we were amazed as the pictures on the website didn't do it justice. It was even more beautiful than we imagined. It was like something out of Homes and Garden. All the soft furnishings were of a high standard and yet at the same time iRead moret was homely and welcoming for the dogs. The dogs had such fun in their 3 acres or orchard. I would certainly go again. Hide
