Close to Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park, this delightful log cabin is located at the end of a no through lane in the village of West Willow. About four miles from the open New Forest, there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy many walking, cycling and horse riding routes. A ten minute drive away is the quaint town of Romsey with period streets, independent shops, cafés and restaurants, or head slightly further afield and visit the cathedral city of Winchester for the day. Easily reached within a 25 minute drive, you’ll find plenty of historic buildings, museums, and family attractions in the town. If you are keen to hit the beach, Highcliffe Castle is within a half hour drive. Perfect for a day trip, you can stop off at New Forest villages including Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst or Beaulieu Village along the way as you head to the coast.

This spacious and unique log cabin has an open plan living area oozing folk charm. With steps down to the garden and large windows that are great for keeping an eye on the resident Alpacas, there is also a sociable dining space with doors opening directly on to the balcony. The kitchen forms part of the open plan space, is equipped with all the essentials for a self-catering holiday, and if you fancy a spot of al fresco dining, why not cook up a storm outside on the gas BBQ. Featuring three bedrooms, the first has a double bed, en-suite shower room and views over the paddocks and woods. The second bedroom is a cosy space with two twin beds, and the third bedroom also boasts paddock views and one single bed. A travel cot is provided for babies.

There is plenty to discover across the five acres of land on this working smallholding, with sheep and alpacas. With an abundance of wildlife, deer, kingfishers, small flock of Hardwick sheep and lambs, children are welcome to assist with morning feedings or if you are a keen angler, private fishing at one of the two privately owned lakes can be arranged. There is a hideaway alongside a grassy track down by the banks of the stream that the children will love or simply prepare a picnic and unwind within the grounds. Parking for two or three cars is available off track beyond the garden gate, and there is bike and buggy storage in the barn. Please note there is no Wi-Fi, however there is mobile phone signal. Pregnant ladies are advised to avoid the ewes and lambs during lambing season. Lambing season in the area takes place from the start of April to mid-May.

The cabin was superb with plenty of space, the bedrooms were very good, both the ensuite and the main bathroom were large. The cabin was very warm without heating. The veranda was superb for dining or just sitting. All together a great package with enough outdoor space for an army of children.

A wonderful relaxing escape for the whole family. Highlights were a trip to Lymington, The New Forest Wildlife Park and of course all the numerous encounters with the friendly animals on site from feeding the lambs to brushing Marmalade(the fluffy tom cat)! Quiet the most idyllic place we have ever stayed- we will be back!!
