The village of West Wellow, with its pub and shop is the ideal base for exploring scenic Hampshire, with many charming towns and villages within easy reach, such as Romsey with its historical abbey, Stockbridge and Andover,  Walkers and nature lovers will appreciate the plethora of routes through spectacular countryside, many of which pass by character pubs for those wishing to stop for refreshments, also 4 miles away you will find Pepper Pig World at Paultons Park. Further afield you will find , Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and Highclere Castle. Mottisfont Abbey, Broadlands,  the pretty town of Lymington, ideal for sailing.

The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size room located on the ground floor and 1 twin bedroom with TV located on the first floor. Shower room: on the ground floor with shower and WC. Lounge/diner: located on the ground floor with wood burner (first basket of logs included), TV and DVD. Kitchen: with electric oven and induction hob, slimline dishwasher, washing machine and small fridge/freezer. Outside: enclosed patio area with furniture. Amenities: ample off-road parking. Hog house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the sofa very comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful. When we had a minor problem with the bed (the mattress was a bit firm for us) they went out of their way to solve the issue and help us out. Likewise when we managed to leave two coats there on leaving JuRead morelie very helpfully posted them onto us without a quibble. The cottage is very nicely placed for sightseeing and the village is lovely. Hide

The Hog House is very comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need. Lots of interesting places to visit nearby including Salisbury, Romsey and National Trust Mottisfont House with its superb collection of old fashioned roses (in full bloom during our visit in early June) as well as several other nearby gardens. Breamore house and CoRead moreuntry museum with its nice little caf was a great place to spend an afternoon. And of course lots of splendid drives and walks in the New Forest. Hide

A beautiful cottage to stay in with all of the home comforts youd expect. Clean, bright and welcoming. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen was well stocked and it was lovely to have fresh hot cross buns to enjoy. Jonathon and Julie made us feel so welcome and ensured our little toddler had fun riding on a toy tractor, Read moreplaying with footballs and exploring the surrounding fields including the rope swing and watching the horses. The cottage was immaculate and well equipped. It had everything we needed for our stay, even down to the little extras (bin bags, washing up liquid etc). It was well placed for exploring the area, we didn't need to travel more than half an hour to reach most places we visited. There was plenty nearby to keep us busy. The owners were welcoming and vRead moreery friendly, and right next door if we needed anything. We were very comfortable in the cottage, and had a fantastic stay here! Hide

Very nice rural and quiet location, with lots of space for the kids to play in the surrounding fields. Good starting point for days out in the area. Particularly friendly and helpful owners who live nearby.
