BEAUTIFUL THATCHED COTTAGE IN THE HEART OF THE TEST VALLEY

This restored detached cottage sits peacefully within the grounds of the owner’s property and is a couple of miles from the village of Awbridge.

The cottage is situated in rural Hampshire, found in the heart of the picturesque Test Valley, 2 miles from the vibrant market town of Romsey, with the ancient cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, both approximately 14 miles away. The village is situated on the Test Way, which passes by many pretty villages, historic churches, and country houses. Nearby Romsey offers visitors a fine selection of shops and restaurants, Romsey Abbey, or the home of the Mountbatten family at Broadlands. The National Trust’s Mottisfont Abbey is well worth a day out. Alternatively, take the short drive to the New Forest, ideal for keen walkers and cyclists.

The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Lounge: with TV, DVD, iPod dock and woodburner. Dining room. Kitchen: well-equipped with electric hob, double oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine and microwave. Outside: partially enclosed garden with patio area with seating and BBQ. Amenities: parking for 2 vehicles. Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating, Wi-Fi, telephone with free UK landline calls included. Regret no smoking. 3 dogs welcome. Additional info: dog washing and drying facilities are available for use onsite in the dog barn. Location: shop and pub 2 miles. Arrival: 3pm.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Apart from being a little far from a shop its perfect, Caroline has thought of everything in the cottage. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed it very much!

We have stayed in quite a few holiday cottages but can honestly rank Woods Thatch amongst the best. Very well equipped cottage, comfy kingsized bed and good sized rooms with a lovely cosy wood burner to snuggle up to in the evenings. Owner also provided a very thoughtful welcome pack that catered for us both -a meat eater and a vegetarian. Our dogsRead more had a welcome pack too! Wonderful place. We loved it here. Beautiful cosy cottage. Incredibly well equipped - Caroline has thought of everything! Great location for exploring the New Forest. Remote and peaceful - but only a short drive to the New Forest. Ideal. Wed love to visit again.

Beautiful. The owner was very welcoming and the complimentary welcome pack was amazing. The cottage had everything you could need. Our dogs were made extremely welcome with towels, bowls and treats. The location was excellent. We would definitely stay again.

Woods Thatch is beautiful! Bigger than it looks and equipped so well you want for nothing. The dogs are well catered for with towels, treats, shampoo and bowls. The nice touch was the holiday ID tags for them. Have stayed in lots of holiday cottages over the years, this is easily up there with the best. The location is private and peaceful, close to lots of places to visit. Cottage is comfortable and well equipped, owners lovely, helpful and respectful of privacy. I would highly recommend this cottage.

This cottage is ideally situated for walking and sightseeing. Very homely with everything you need for a holiday. Everything provided for the dog including treats and towels and bowls. And a good welcome pack of essentials and wine for guests. Would highly recommend to people with dogs.

Had a fantastic week. Cottage was beautiful, well equipped home from home. Food hamper was fantastic and dog hamper brilliant, our dog wax pampered too. Plenty of attractions to visit but you do need a car. Already recommended to several friends.
