Situated on a delightful farm in a lovely part of the island, this charming cottage rests in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Appuldurcombe Down and the picturesque village of Godshill.

Above the farm fields lie sweeping open downlands where sheep graze and you are welcome to walk along the marked trails. From here there are wonderful panoramic views across the Isle of Wight towards the mainland coastline. This is a wonderful area for spotting buzzards, skylarks, red squirrels, owls, woodpeckers and badgers. A ten-minute stroll through the beech copse and across the fields leads you to Godshill, a delightful village renowned for its church, thatched cottages and a variety of tea shops, restaurants and pubs. There is also immediate access from the farm courtyard to footpaths and bridleways leading to Appuldurcombe and along the Stenbury Trail to the Ventnor coast. Also nearby are the sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin.

This is one of three adjoining south-facing cottages which overlook an attractive farm courtyard with Grade II listed barns and a traditional 17th century farmhouse. On entering this bright and welcoming barn conversion you will find yourself in the pretty and spacious lounge/diner, with plenty of comfy seating, TV/DVD/VCR and a charming dining area. Heading into the attractively designed kitchen you will find it fully equipped with a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. You will also have access to a laundry room shared with the other properties on-site, which has a washing machine and a tumble dryer. There is also a ground-floor WC. Heading upstairs you will find two cosy bedrooms. There’s a double room and a twin room. You will also find a bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC.

Stepping outside you will find a delightful fenced patio to the front of the cottage which overlooks a fountain. Garden furniture is provided so you can dine in the sunshine, and there’s an open lawn area within a minute’s walk of the cottage which is suitable for ball games. Beautiful carpets of bluebells can be a joy to see, in nearby woodland, in late April and early May. From the rear of the cottage there are lovely views stretching across the open fields, to the church tower of Godshill, with St. George’s Downs beyond. Car parking spaces are available close to the cottage.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Cottage is in a great location with just a 10 minute walk, through the woods, into the village of Godshill. This is a beautiful village with lots to see & everything you could need. Tearooms, pubs, shops and not forgetting the model village. A must see. One of my favourite locations on the island

A lovely cottage in a very peaceful spot. Perfect as a base for our family to explore the Isle of Wight. Would definitely go again & recommend. Added bonus of blackout blinds in the children's bedroom!

My wife and I and two daughters aged 4 and 7 had a wonderful week in Lavender Cottage. Island Cottage Holidays were great to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend both the company and the accommodation.
