Beautifully renovated to a high standard, this charming two hundred-year-old cottage offers a stunning blend of old and new.

One of two traditional cottages, this property is surrounded by beautiful island countryside with views across fields to the coast. Set out on foot or bike to follow the many footpaths and tracks that extend in a variety of directions including to the coast at Wootton Creek, the woods of Briddlesford Copse and Arreton Downs. The local farm shop and restaurant are also within easy walking distance, perfect for stocking up on supplies or enjoying a meal out. Rich in history and nature, there is plenty to see and do in the local area, from visiting the island home of Queen Victoria to enjoying a ride on Havenstreet Steam Railway.

Renovated with great care, this cottage offers a stylish blend of period charm and modern comfort. Prepare meals in the sunny and spacious kitchen area, which features an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and small freezer. The kitchen is open plan to the fantastic lounge/dining area, which has been beautifully presented with stylish armchairs, a cosy rug and occasional lighting. This is a serene and welcoming space in which to relax in front of the TV/DVD while the wood burner roars away in the large inglenook fireplace. Upstairs there is a light and airy king-size bedroom with wonderful open views across fields to the sea, together with a well-equipped bathroom with shower over the bath and WC

Outside, there is a large enclosed garden with table and chairs, beautifully stocked flower beds and a pretty well, which once provided water for the cottages. There is parking for one car in the parking area near the cottage.

We spent a very relaxing week in the cottage which is beautifully finished and well appointed. One of the best we have every stayed in. Location is great with some lovely views toward the Solent. We spent a large amount of our time in the south and west of the Island so in theory the cottage was not well located for us, however we had no problems gRead moreetting about the island and the property is well located for Cowes, Osbourne House and many other popular IOW attractions. 1 Dores cottage was a great place to stay. It really was a cottage in the true sense of the word. The only negative thing about our stay was that the temperatures did not warrant us firing up the wood burning stove in the large fireplace which would have been terrific ! The cottage had a wonderful character and really had everything that was neRead moreeded to make our stay a comfortable one. It is set in peaceful surroundings and is a really tranquil place to stay. We felt, for us the location of this lovely cottage is just right. In a great rural setting in the countryside with walks on the doorstep and a really nice farm shop with cafe nearby. The cottage is very welcoming, spacious, very well equipped and warm. We loved the inglenook and did actually light the wood burning fire.
