Located in the grounds of a ‘Cottage Ornee’ style house by the sea, this attractive property is perfect for those looking for tranquillity and plenty of outdoor splendour.

Approached via a long driveway from the quaint village of Niton Undercliff on the south coast of the island, this cottage is located on one side of a large courtyard, detached from the main house. It’s surrounded by several acres of private garden, with lush lawns rolling down towards the sea, offering spectacular views. This area is a haven for keen walkers, with a short walk to the coastal path which extends to The Needles. It’s great for spotting wildlife as there’s an abundance on this part of the island. A short car drive away is the sandy beach of Ventnor, and many smaller beaches and coves within easy reach.

This cottage has been decorated and furnished with care and attention to detail throughout, offering an aesthetic that cleverly fuses countryside and coastal styles. Many original features have been retained, including the flagstone floor in the hall, which you’ll notice as you step into the house. There’s a large lounge with windows overlooking the courtyard and TV/DVD - a perfect spot to unwind after a busy day exploring. The open-plan kitchen/diner is equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There’s also a large dining table with ample space for the whole party. It has three charming bedrooms for a good night’s sleep, including one double and two twin rooms, plus there’s a bathroom with a shower over the small bath, and a separate WC.

Step out onto the terrace from the double bedroom and enjoy the views across the courtyard to the gardens and sea. Guests can also follow a path through the gorgeous larger gardens of the main house to secluded spots, including a place where children can run around and play games. (Please be aware that there are two ponds in the gardens, so children need close supervision.) Off-road parking is available for two cars - one in the garage and another in the adjoining courtyard.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

This is a very comfortable spacious cottage in a lovely setting. It is in a beautiful peaceful part of the island but easily accessible to many of the Isle of Wight attractions. The Buddle Inn at Niton Undercliff is close by and there is a good shop and post office which sells papers at Niton. We had a very nice time.

Beautiful location with great gardens to explore. If you are taking small children though there are some steep stone stairs to be negotiated.

Puckaster Cottage is a fantastic place. It is in the wonderful Niton with so many beautiful coastal walks and lovely pubs nearby. It is a great base to explore the island from with everything within easy reach. The host is wonderful and helpful and the gardens of the main house are stunning and open for exploration. We will definitely go back!

The cottage was very old with stone flooring in the hall. Very spacious and felt very homely. It was comfortable and the lounge was very relaxing.
