Situated in a peaceful village location, this property offers a cosy base from which to explore the nearby Kent countryside, including a selection of market towns, pretty gardens and historic castles.

The picturesque Weald of Kent village of Iden Green is home to a popular 17th century pub, serving locally sourced and seasonal menus. Beyond the village you will find the historic attractions of Sissinghurst Castle, Batemans and Merriments Gardens, ideal for those looking to soak up a bit of culture. Or for a fun day out for the whole family head to the coast for a long walk along Camber Sands beach.

The cottage opens into a cosy lounge, which has been decorated in warm tones offering a relaxing space to unwind beside the open fire during the cooler months. During your stay, you are encouraged to delve into the well-stocked bookcase, enjoy a board game with the family or take in a good film on the Smart TV. The other side of the sitting room is the inviting kitchen, which has been decorated in a classic farmhouse style. Amongst the chalk green cabinets, you will find an oven with two hob burners and two ovens, a stylish Butlers sink, woodburning stove and plenty of cookbooks for culinary inspiration. The kitchen also has a fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Once you have finished preparing your meals, head to the bright and airy breakfast/dining room, where you can also enjoy a cup of morning coffee from the Nespresso machine. Step through the French windows onto the decked area, which provides a peaceful spot to plan the day ahead. There are two double bedrooms on the ground floor, both of which feature original fireplaces and have been fitted with charming Victorian style beds and stylish bedside tables. Also on this floor is a bathroom with additional shower over bath, while the third small-double bedroom is located upstairs. Built in the eaves, this room is full of character from the sloping ceilings to the exposed chimney breast.

Outside, steps down from the decked area lead to a paved patio, complete with outdoor furniture, pretty potted plants and a parasol for those sunny days. The grassed garden beyond is ideal for dogs and leads to a second decked area with additional seating.


Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

The cottage is very comfortable, well fitted out, good supply of towels and bed linen. Crockery to cover all dining requirements. The cottage is in a very peaceful country area, although the traffic can be rather speedy even within the supposed 30 limit through the village, but then that is normal these days!

We really enjoyed our stay at Ashenden. The house was really well presented when we arrived, warm and all the lights on. We really appreciated all the christmas decorations around the house and especially in the dining room as it had all been laid out ready for eating. we could also see that you had recently bought some new glasses. We really likedRead more the attention to detail quality of the decor of the curtains/bedlinen and signage around the cottage. Also you left so much lovely food for us to eat and the bottle of Moet Chandon was amazing!! We really appreciated you providing a dog blanket. We would definitely consider staying at that cottage or another one in Sussex and would definitely recommend to family and friends to stay there. Hide
