This pretty cottage is set in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and presents an attractive blend of old and new through its carefully chosen furniture and original features.

Situated in the village of Burwash Weald, a hamlet of Burwash in East Sussex, this property benefits from access to village amenities including a choice of country pubs, and small village shops. The imposing National Trust property of Batemans, home to Rudyard Kipling who wrote The Jungle Book is within a 2 mile drive and is a lovely place to spend a day, enjoying the history and stunning gardens. An eight mile drive to the south will bring you to the historic town of Battle, with the imposing Battle Abbey and a wide choice of shops and places to eat. This is a great location for walking.

A garden path leads up to this pretty cottage. On entering, you will arrive in the cosy lounge with open fire, large comfy sofa, folding dining table and chairs and a Smart TV with DVD player. The lounge leads into the quaint cottage kitchen with a large range oven and gas hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge and small deep freeze. Just off the kitchen is a small porch area which leads to the garden and is an ideal place for storing muddy boots. Along the hall, there is a pretty and fresh double bedroom with wrought iron bedstead, and a smaller bedroom with a single bed. The bathroom has a roll-top bath with shower over, a heated towel rail and WC.

The garden is accessed from either the lounge or the kitchen, and is a traditional enclosed cottage garden with a patio table and chairs. There is parking for one car.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

We had a very pleasant stay the owner was extremely helpful to the point of ringing around the local area to sort out a local pub for Christmas Dinner at very short notice

Chose this property for its easy access for walks with our Labrador and a dog friendly pub across the road and was extremely happy with the property. The owner had a lot of nice touches including a carton of milk, tea / coffee to get us off to a relaxing start after the long trip down with crisps and chocolates also left for us. The location of the cottage is great for exploring the local area. The items the owner leaves as a welcome pack are really appreciated and a nice touch. The cottage is well equipped and clean and tidy and was perfect for the 3 of us with the 2 dogs. A beautifully restored and decorated historic cottage that has an equally beautifully stocked and maintained garden.
