VINTAGE STYLING AND LUXURY LIVING IN THE BEAUTIFUL HILLS BEYOND HAY ON WYE

Cycle the back roads to Hay, walk in the Brecon Beacons, toast marshmallows on the fire-pit or simply settle down with a book by the fire, rustic chic meets sumptuous style in this gorgeous family friendly bolthole. The owners live on site in their 500 year old listed farmhouse, your privacy is always assured however if you require anything, the owners will be willing to help.

Tucked away in the undiscovered Begwns, there’s heaps to do in the area should you be able to tear yourself away from the cottage. Pony trek across the hills, pedal around the lanes, stride out into the Black Mountains or laze a day away by the River Wye, fishing rod, canoeing oar, or yummy local ice cream in hand.

With 580 acres of National Trust Common Land surrounding you, there are many walks on the doorstep with lots to discover including woods, streams, beautiful views and much more. From the top of The Begwyns it's possible to see nearly all of the Brecon Beacons, a truly astounding view. For the energetic, the Brecon Beacons National Park and River Wye have a number of adventure training providers, from renting a bike or canoe, to high rope courses and gorge walking. Hay-on-Wye just 5 miles away, with Thursday market and global fame for its annual International Book Festival, with plenty of second hand bookshops, an art house cinema and independent stores. The area has a emerging foodie culture and many excellent pubs and restaurants are to be found.

The accommodation offers FOUR bedrooms, a king-size en-suite bedroom, a double bedroom, a single bedroom, a bunkbed twin bedroom: TWO Bathrooms: family bathroom with shower over bath and WC and toiletries, en-suite bathroom with shower, basin, WC. Lounge: with wood burner (first basket of logs included), central heating, TV and Blu-ray. Kitchen/diner: with double electric oven and induction hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine/dryer. Outside: terrace with seating, BBQ, trampoline and outdoor toys, and large herb beds, access to 100 acres of fields and meadows. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric and Wi-Fi included. Regret no smoking. Mobile phone reception can be unreliable depending on your provider.  2 dogs welcome. Location: pub 1 mile. Arrival: 4pm.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

SLEEPS 7 : Four bedrooms: king-size, en-suite master bedroom, a double bedroom, a twin, bunk-bed bedroom, a single bedroom, the house is perfect for either one or two families sharing.

RELAXING: Large sitting room with open fire, a basket of logs and kindling on arrival, large sofa, rocking chair, local reads, television, dvd, Wi-Fi.

COOK UP A FEAST: Well equipped family kitchen with double oven Esse stove, with induction and electric hot plates, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher. Farmhouse dining table.

KEEPING CLEAN: Family bathroom with bath, over bath shower, basin and loo. En-suite bathroom with shower, basin and loo. A downstairs cloakroom with basin and loo. Towels and toiletries included. Washing machine, tumble dryer.

OUTSIDE: Secluded terrace with stunning views, 100 acres of private farmland to explore, including pony, duckpond and beautiful walks directly on to the National Trust Begwns. Barbecue, fire pit & outdoor furniture in summer months.

BASICS: You’ll find enough in the cottage to get you started, including tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, herbs, salt, pepper, cleaning products, loo paper, firelighters. Towels & bedding are included. There is an iron and ironing board available

JUST SO YOU KNOW : The cottage is located on a quiet farm and the owners live on site in their 500 year old listed farm house. The owners are on hand should you need them, otherwise your privacy is completely respected. Mobile phone reception can be unreliable depending on your provider.

PETS: Up to two well behaved dogs are most welcome, paws off the furniture please.

Fantastic holiday, gorgeous cottage in the most beautiful setting. We received a delicious welcome pack of fresh eggs, local coffee, organic tea and freshly baked Welsh cakes! Couldnt have asked for a better weekend away!

This cottage was perfect! Our big family spent four dreamy days on Sarah and Chris' farm. Every convenience, comfort, and accommodation was provided. Looking for a city break, we spent our time cooking (and eating), walking the surrounding hills, and sleeping. It's the first holiday home we've rented where the sheets were super high quality. EverytRead morehing about the cottage was charming and it was finished to the highest quality. The kids and the dog loved the freedom, fresh air and wide spaces! Hide

Lovely cottage on the edge of a national trust area superb for walking and close to the town oh Hay on Wye. Well appointed and comfortable with grounds surrounding to walk the dog. Great views on the terrace in the summer overlok8ng the valley Would recommend
