This eco-friendly property with its own hydro-electric supply and rivers and mountains all around works really well for walking groups, a bustling family, or couples alike. There are market towns within easy reach and proper country pubs within a 5 minutes’ drive along the lane.

Ideal for a family looking to get away from it all.  With walks direct from the door and views for miles across the Brecon Beacons National Park.  Take a stroll along the Brecon & Monmouth Canal with its popular Canal Food Trail. For riding the Black Mountains are home to several trekking centres the area is also great for cycling, challenging sub trans routes are nearby & bike hire and delivery is available nearby. Just 7 miles from Crickhowell, with independent traders, 12 miles from the Cathedral town of Brecon for larger shops and Welsh heritage, or 40 minutes from Hay-on-Wye. Growing foodie haven, Abergavenny with its Michelin restaurants and some independent gems, 20 minutes’ drive.

The accommodation offers THREE bedrooms: 1 king-size with a bath, 1 twin with en-suite shower and WC and additional cosy bedroom. Bathroom: with bath and WC. Separate WC with washing machine on the ground floor. Lounge: with open fire (first baskets of logs included), TV, DVD and beautiful views to enjoy. Kitchen/diner: with range oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer. Outside: a terrace, with garden furniture in summer months, BBQ and acres of space to enjoy and walks directly from the door. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and Wi-Fi included. Regret no smoking. 2 dogs welcome by arrangement. Additional info: the central heating is efficiently run via a modern hydroelectric system feeding directly off water from the mountain. Arrival: 4pm

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

SLEEPS 2 - 6:  Three bedrooms upstairs. Beautiful bedding and towels included in each room. A king-size master bedroom, which encompasses a bath & basin within the room and a well sized, en-suite twin room with two full size single beds and a single room.

RELAXING: Large living space with two comfy sofas, full central heating, open fire, tv, dvd, wi-fi. Large family kitchen with farmhouse dining table, range cooker/hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer (more freezer space available if needed).

KEEPING CLEAN: Downstairs cloakroom with loo, basin and washing machine. Each bedroom has access to a bathroom upstairs, a family bathroom with bath, basin and loo, an en-suite with shower, basin and loo. Plus a bath and basin in the master bedroom. Towels and lovely soap included. Iron and ironing board available.

OUTSIDE: A sunny terrace, with garden furniture in summer months, a barbeque, acres of space to enjoy and walks directly from the door.

PETS: Up to two well behaved dogs are very welcome downstairs, paws off the furniture please.

ECO-CREDENTIALS: Scoring highly, with the central heating being efficiently run via a modern hydro electric system feeding directly off water from the mountain.

The barn was a cow shed and has been refurbed to end up with a cottage feel. Fabulous location and a glorious part of the world. Great for just walking from base. The 1.8 mile drive from Llangynider is lovely but could challenge nervous drivers but there are passing places and the arrival is well worth it. Our hosts were delightful and extremely heRead morelpful when a shower failed - even securing a plumber on a bank holiday. Impressive. Hide

A lovely cottage in the most magical location. It was warm and cosy, despite snow still being on the ground. The owner was very helpful, allowing us to park outside the main house, as the track to the cottage was slippery and snowy. It felt like a home from home.

Fantastic cottage with superior comfort and quality. Every room has its own bathroom... Located in an extremely quiet environment, close to the main Brecon Beacons attractions. Very friendly owner.

Amazing conversion with a unique quaint charm decorated with lovely items and superb paintings. This created a lovely ambiance for our weekend break. More passing points on the single track long lane to the property would reduce the anxiety of expecting a vehicle around the next corner!!

The cottage is in a perfect location and Bertie is a wonderful host. The beds and settees were comfortable and there was plenty of space both indoors and out. The cottage was very clean and we are looking forward to booking a return visit soon.
