FARMHOUSE SET IN 100 PRIVATE ACRES WITH VIEWS ACROSS THE BLACK MOUNTAINS

With thick stone walls, ancient old oak beams and large open fireplace the property really is a great for spending some quality time with those you love, the walking is second to none, the area will enchant you and the views really do have to be seen to be believed.

Abergavenny is the nearest town, with independent cinema, a supermarket for supplies and a food festival each September. Nearby attractions include Crickhowell which is a little town to stock up on local supplies, with independent stores and a butchers, there is also a mountaineering shop and tourist info. The Welsh Borders are almost littered with Norman castles, Raglan, White Castle, Grosmont and Skenfrith. Hereford houses the Mappa Mundi and is the nearest city, with beautiful cathedral and pretty Church Street. Pony trekking is available in the nearby Llanthony Valley and Llangattock Escarpment.

The accommodation offers FOUR bedrooms: 1 super-king-size, 1 double, 1 twin and 1 bunk bedroom. Bathroom: with bath, shower and WC. Wet room: with shower and WC, on the ground floor. Lounge: with open-fire (first basket of logs included), TV, DVD and iPod dock. Snug: with double sofa bed sleeping 2 (there is an additional charge of £35 per person to use this). Conservatory. Kitchen/diner: with electric double oven and hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and larder. Outside: garden. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, underfloor heating and Wi-Fi included. Regret no smoking. 2 dogs welcome(please keep dogs in the spacious kitchen/boot room area).  Additional info: the lower track leading to the property is narrow in places. Wi-Fi, please be aware that this can be patchy due to the remote location. Arrival: 4pm

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Please note there is a refundable £300 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

SLEEPS 2 - 8 (+ 2): Four upstairs bedrooms: A super king-size master bedroom, a double, a twin and a childrens bunk bed room. There is a downstairs playroom which can be made up instead of the bunk beds if preferred. There is also a sofa bed available to sleep up to 2 additional people (there is a £35 surcharge per person to make up the sofa bed or the downstairs bedroom).

BATHING: Luxury wet room / family bathroom with great views, a huge shower and bath tub positioned in front of a fireplace.  Downstairs wet room, basin and loo, suitable for wheelchair use. Towels included.

RELAXING: Sitting room, with open fireplace, first batch of logs included, television, dvd player, iPod dock, original art work and under floor heating. Wi-fi, please be aware that this can be patchy due to the remote location. There is a downstairs snug, with sofabed and a downstairs playroom with stunning views and toys / games available.

DINING: Large kitchen / dining area, with underfloor heating, huge oak windows looking out across the mountains, solid oak hand built kitchen, zinc work tops, walk in larder, electric double oven, hob and butler sink.

BOOTS & MUD: Boot room, perfect for hanging coats, keeping boots, washing off the mud. Laundry facilities with washing machine and tumble dryer.

PETS: Up to 2 well behaved pets are accepted on the understanding that they please stay in the kitchen/boot room area...underfloor heated and a good size, they'll love it!

ACCESS: The cottage interior has been designed around wheelchair users and has level floors throughout the downstairs. The stairs to the upstairs rooms are steep and downstairs sleeping/bathroom is available for restricted mobility guests.

VEHICLE ACCESS: The lower track leading to the property is narrow in places.

This is an absolutely outstanding country cottage. If there is a more idyllic, better appointed and more comfortable place to rent anywhere, not just in Wales, I would be surprised. Not recommended - because I want it to be free when we can stay!

Absolutely wonderful! Loved the kitchen/diner area with it's beautiful views and great layout. The upstairs bathroom was amazing! Stayed as a group of 7, and the property felt very spacious. Beautiful surroundings with plenty of local walks. Left feeling totally relaxed. Just wish we could have stayed longer!

Amazing views - massive living space for the price; and the kitchen was particularly beautiful with windows that made the best of the location - lovely, large, quirky outside space. Isolated, which we loved, but might not appeal to other people. Difficult access road, which didn't bother us, but again, may put other people off.

The most beautiful cottage in Wales! Great location for walking from the house, and fantastically quiet and private. We go as a couple, I would find it difficult with a house full as there are not enough bathrooms for the number of bedrooms and you have to walk through the bathroom to get to the master bedroom, fine if there are only two of you or Read moreperhaps your own children but difficult with friends I think. Cottage and location superb. Spec'd to a very high standard. Gloriously remote,but heed warning re the narrow access lanes. Shame about grumpy woman and dog you have to pass on each occasion...

Wonderful cottage in a wonderful location.Truly a get away from it all. A very steep track to heaven. It is so far away from it all do take immediately required foods (milk , butter etc) you will not be popping to the shops. Loved by us all and the dogs.
