This Victorian spa town is a pleasure to visit with picturesque lake, 30 natural springs, pavilion and range of events, shops and eateries to enjoy alongside the National Cycle Museum and Radnorshire Museum, not forgetting its renowned golf club. Explore the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys, visit the Red Kite Feeding Station at Gigrin Farm, head to the internationally renowned Hergest Croft Gardens, go book hunting in Hay-on-Wye or take the Old Mountain Road to Aberystwyth. Set in breath-taking countryside full of footpaths, cycle routes and bridleways to explore and enjoy walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, wildlife watching, photography, arts, crafts, music and events. A perfect spot for two to unwind or seek adventure in Mid Wales.

Down the curved wooden boardwalk, sided by wildflowers and plants, you enter this cedar clad lodge and will be drawn to the stunning views through the bi-fold doors opening on to an inviting private deck .The spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is beautifully furnished with tables and beams made from locally grown Douglas Fir and Ash. Comfort is considered a priority with all the thoughtful little extras for year round comfort such as the underfloor heating and the cosy wood burner. The kitchen area is well-equipped with gas oven and hob, dishwasher and fridge. If you decide to have a romantic meal in, the table is perfectly positioned to embrace the fabulous view. Snuggle up and relax on the comfortable sofa watch the wildlife, choose a DVD, plan your activities for tomorrow or enjoy a good book. The sumptuous bedroom has a super-king-size hand crafted bed and a luxury en-suite shower with WC and soft towels. This special property is a truely romantic retreat.

Outside the garden is naturally designed with wild flowers, grassy mounds and is surrounded by rolling countryside and wildlife. The patio deck, with table and chairs, is the perfect spot to relax and unwind, enjoy alfresco dining or head to the private raised seating area by the fire pit to watch the wildlife or appreciate the dark skies stargazing. If you are keen on cycling or golf there is a secure bicycle store with wash down facilities, washing machine and drying facilities for wet boots and clothes. Private drive with off-road parking for one car. The lodge is set in two acres of grounds and maintains its own privacy, adjacent to the owners’ seven acre home and stables.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

SLEEPS: There is one bedroom with a super-king-size bed. Bed linen is provided for your stay. RELAXING: Electric and underfloor heating and Wi-Fi is included for your stay.

COOKING & DINING: There is a gas oven and hob, fridge and dishwasher.

KEEPING CLEAN: There is one en-suite shower room. Towels are provided for your stay.

OUTSIDE: The outside space boasts a delightful decked area with seating, and a private fire pit perfect for night time cuddles beneath starry skies. There is also a private drive with off-road parking for one car, and bicycle storage along with wash-down facilities, drying facilities and a washing machine.

PETS: One dog is welcome at this property.

A great comfortable lodge in beautiful countryside. The lodge was very clean and very well equipped, it is definitely a place to relax in and allow the peace and tranquillity of the countryside to recharge one's batteries.

Simply wonderful !! The lodge is in a perfect setting with amazing views,it has everything you could possibly need and the nearest town is 10 mins away by car. If you want peace and quiet in a beautiful setting this is the place.

Our stay at Skylark lodge was wonderful! Excellent location - it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, but we were in fact only a mile away from the nearest town. Lots of care and attention has gone in to making the property feel elegant and yet cozy.

We had a fantastic couple of days at skylark lodge, the views are magnificent and the lodge is so comefortable with every requirement catered for. We would recommend eating out at Drovers, the Thai restaurant (yum yum), well definitely be visiting again.

The location of the property is superb for those who love the countryside.The immediate area was great for walking and local trips were varied and beautiful-from feeding the red kites at a local farm to the Elan Valley(the cafe in the Visitors Centre is delicious).

Beautiful lodge with cosy decor and in such a peaceful setting. Attention to detail made it very special and a lovely welcome package on arrival. Skylark lodge was an amazing property in a lovely peaceful environment. Fantastic views and the lodge finished to a high luxurious standard. Is easy to find and a few minutes drive from the town centre. Is a great base to explore the region.
