Relax in peace and five star quiet amongst meadows, woodland and bird song. A dreamy NGS garden, wild swimming pond to splash in, trampoline (not available during the winter months) for the kids and the Brecon Beacons in easy reach. For two people this is a romantic, rural retreat. 

Market towns abound, Abergavenny, home to Wales foodie movement, the closest, Crickhowell and Monmouth nearby too, or take a drive through the mountains for a day trip to Hay on Wye, of literary festival fame and a great location for holiday shopping. For outdoor enthusiasts, the cottage is within easy reach of the beautiful Wye Valley for lazy days paddling on the river, or stride out for the hills within the National Park, there’s bike hire and pony trekking widely available.

Enter this beautiful property into the warm and stylish kitchen area, where there is space to hang your coats and kick off your boots. The kitchen is well-equipped offering a double electric oven and five ring gas hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. There is also a useful utility room just off this, along with a ground floor WC. Continue through to the open-plan lounge/dining room, which offers a wonderful rustic, French feel throughout. Enjoy the open fire on those chillier evenings and sink back into the squishy sofa with a good book. The patio doors allow plenty of natural light into the room, and lead onto the private patio area overlooking the lawns. There is a gorgeous winding staircase to your right from the lounge, leading up to two en-suite bedrooms. There is 1 king-size with en-suite bathroom, and 1 twin with en-suite shower room. 

Outside there are acres of garden to explore, outside furniture provided, a BBQ, and a large natural swimming pond in the field just below the property. Endless hours of fun for everyone!  Ample parking is available just in front of the property, and there is also a bike shed and boot room to the side of the property.

SLEEPS 2 - 4 : Two en-suite bedrooms. A king-size bedroom with Hastens mattress, beautiful bedlinen and an en-suite bathroom (with shower over bath and WC). A large twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC.

RELAXING: Open-plan living and dining room with open fire place (first basket of logs provided), under floor heating, spiral staircase, Wi-fi, TV, DVD and iPod dock, farmhouse dining table.

COOKING : Well-equipped kitchen with electric double oven and five burner gas hob, microwave, toaster, Magi-mix, fridge, freezer, washing machine.

KEEPING CLEAN : Utility room with downstairs loo / basin. Two upstairs en-suite bathrooms.

GARDEN : Acres of garden to explore, from formal lawns to woodland and fields. Lovely shady tree outside, perfect for dozing and reading under! Outside furniture, swimming pond, BBQ, and ample parking.

BABIES : There is room in either bedroom for a cot, please provide your own travel cot and bedding. A highchair and a booster seat are available. The owner can provide a wooden cot if required for which there is an additional charge of £25 payable direct to the owner and must be requested prior to arrival.  

BASICS : On arrival there is a welcome basket, with bread, eggs, butter, milk, juice and local jam. Basics such as salt, pepper, cleaning products, logs (first basket free) are available on arrival.

PETS : Unfortunately The Billiard Room does not accept pets, there are no exceptions.

TRAMPOLINE AND LAKE : There is a trampoline (not available during the winter months)and a lake in the grounds which the owners are more than happy for guests to make use of during their stay.  Please note that this is entirely at the guests' own risk.

BIKE HIRE: Available locally, with delivery arranged direct with the owner prior to holiday

We were absolutely blown away by the location of the property, as well as the beautiful garden right next to us! A very gracious host welcomed us to the property, which was a nice touch. Set in a picturesque location, in the footfalls of Sugarloaf mountain, the Billiard room was the perfect location for our family get away. We were surrounded by beautiful gardens, new spring lambs and wonderful hospitality. The weather was too chilly to take a dip in the swimming pond but Candice was quick to put up the trampoline which my kids adoRead morered. As soon as we arrived we were made really welcome. A beautiful place to spend a week or more whatever the weather. The cottage was very well appointed; we liked the underfloor heating and open fire. The location and grounds were stunning. We definitely would like to return.

The cottage is in a fairly remote location but the views are beautiful and the place is very quiet. We were given a lovely food hamper which was very welcome. A wonderful cottage with everything you need. Very private and peaceful. Amazing landscape and lovely gardens. Loved the chickens and funny to watch the housemartins flying and diving. Couldn't get the kids off the trampoline!! Really nice to sit on the bench and just admire the views. Had a lovely few days.
