A cosy well equipped cottage, a warm welcome from the owners and the perfect location to start exploring mid and South Wales. We loved our little home for the week, watching the canal boats pass by. Theres loads to do all within easy reach of the cottage, great walks, and a friendly local pub which has great food and cheap beer. A lovely spot.

Great location for exploring the surrounding area. Well equipped cottage and nice location right by the canal. Very clean and lots of nice finishing touches around the place. Really enjoyable holiday.

What a wonderful place to stay. Right by the Monmouth & Brecon Canal. The property is very nice but the only downside was that we didn't get to use the lovely wood burner as the weather was too hot. Great base for exploring the Brecon Beacons & Black Mountains also for lovely walks along the canal.

Lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need for a holiday. The cleanest and best kept cottage we've stayed in. Appreciated the little touches (welcome pack, board games, DVDs, local area and history books). Loved being so close to the canal - lots to sit and watch or enjoy a towpath walk. Handy village shop which is open late and the BriRead moredge pub does good food and is very reasonable. Friendly locals. Hide

Well positioned, cosy cottage right on the canal bank so great access for canal towpath- cycling/walking. Very well equipped place - they have thought of everything to make it homely and easy. Lovely pub a couple of minutes walk away. What more could you want?

Lovely cottage, right on the canal. Spotted a heron on one of my many walks along the towpath. Very convenient to major roads. Well stocked local shop.

This is a very comfortable cottage including a lovely log burner. The location, right besides a canal, is perfect, especially if like me you have a dog. The cottage was clean & well furnished with comfortable beds. We were able to park directly outside the cottage but there is no specific parking space. We enjoyed our week & intend returning in theRead more future Hide

Cariad cottage is in a good location for walks and seeing the Abergavenny area. Excellent standard of cleanliness, and very well equipped even down to the O/S maps. Upstairs a little cramped but, we soon got used to it, not sure if it would be suitable for elderly or less mobile guests.
