Nestled at the foot of the Skirrid, on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Wye Valley. It is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and relax in the great Welsh outdoors. The area is also steeped in history with some of Europe’s finest surviving castles, Abergavenny Castle set against the spectacular hills and Crickhowell Castle, a prominent feature within a small market town, or if you want more of an adventure try canoeing or kayaking on the River Wye. The area is also host to a vibrant events calendar to include Usk show and Abergavenny food festival.

Head inside the shepherds hut and you will find the lounge/diner and sleeping area with an inviting wood burner to snuggle up in front of after a day exploring the area. The lounge area has seating where you can relax and listen to music on the DAB radio. There is handily a kettle and a toaster in the lounge area. The kitchen area is to the side of the shepherds hut and has an electric stove and fridge. In the evening snuggle up in the comfy double bed and look out at the stars. You will also find a shower room with shower and WC.

We had a great time at the Cabin. Very clean and well presented on arrival. Hot tub was excellent. Location is as expected, more than a walk to any pub or town. Drive into Abergaveney only takes 4 minutes which is great. Also an excellent walk to the top of the Skirrid on your doorstep! Owners are very kind and a great help.

Had a great break away at the shepherds hut. Owner was very helpful and accommodating. Copper kettle cafe a stones throw away with very polite staff and excellent food. Would highly recommend.

Great little accommodation with fantastic facilities cooking, BBQ, showering etc. set in a peaceful and relaxing location. Yes, it's small, but it feels really cozy, especially with the log burner going. The hot tub is amazing, especially after a day out exploring the local area. We don't usually intend to revisit places the world's a big place Read morebut I think we'll be back here in a year-or-two. Owners are very helpful, really nice people. Highly recommended. Hide
