Peacefully nestled within the fringes of an established meadow enjoying shade from the mature trees, the hand crafted railway carriage is just perfect for couples looking to escape the real world.

This peaceful location will be hard to leave, however before the time comes you will have a wealth of walking to enjoy with simple access into the Black Mountains and slightly further afield the Brecon Beacons National Park. Enjoy the best of both Monmouthshire and Herefordshire’s market towns with regular farmers markets and literature and art festivals. Across the border, you will find an area steeped in history with some of Europe’s finest surviving castles and countryside, Brecon Castle overlooking the River Usk, Abergavenny Castle set against the spectacular hills and Crickhowell Castle, a prominent feature within a small market town. At the end of a busy day, return to the blissful peace of your retreat.

Take a stroll across the meadow and arrive at the wooden bridge where you will capture your first glimpse of this hand-crafted railway carriage. The covered terrace with double doors open into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, cosy chairs sit well in front of the wood burner effect electric fire, with a beautifully finished kitchen set against the rear of the carriage, equipped with electric hob, fridge with ice compartment, and for dining you can make the most of the carriage with the small pull out table and chairs. When your day is done climb into the built in double bed with TV. There is also a shower room with WC within the carriage.

Wake up to the sound of bird song and the babbling brook whilst you take breakfast on your private terrace over-looking the water’s edge, the terrace is a perfect sun trap and enjoys a cover for chiller autumn evenings along with a warming fire pit. There is parking for two cars available.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Stunning romantic getaway in very private location. Beautifully presented hut. So peaceful away from everything. Enjoyed the fire pit at night toasting marshmallows. Would defiently go back.

This is the most Romantic cozy hut set in the most stunning scenery with cows and sheep in the neighbouring field whilst a stream separates. The owners have thought of every little detail and we have recommend to friends and family.

Woolwasher's Shepherd's Hut is wonderfully comfortable and well equipped. The terrace area is very useful and lovely to use for meals. It is useful for storing a few things too as the hut is small. We feel in the love the moment we arrived. Very secluded and was simply the perfect retreat away from everyday life. Lots of amazing walks on your doorstep as well as great pubs to enjoy food and drink. The owners are very friendly, nice people. The Shepards was the perfect place to unwind, it was peaceful and very secluded from busy areas which was great for the peace and quiet. Lovely little cottage. Had a wonderful stay. So relaxing. If you want a few days from the hustle and bustle of life this is the best place to go. Our little dog loved it so much. Would definitely go back.
