Homely lodge-style property sleeping four guests, situated alongside the owner’s home in the historic town of Pembroke, within walking distance to the impressive Norman castle, shops, and pubs.

This property is located in the town of Pembroke in West Wales, a great place to enjoy a holiday, with plenty to see and do in the local area. The town itself is home to an impressive Norman castle which is surrounded by a large mill pond which makes a lovely backdrop for enjoying relaxing walks, whilst there are also many miles of scenic walks to be enjoyed along the nearby Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which offers an incredible 186 miles of waterside walks. Of course, the coastline is also famous for its stunning beaches, the nearest of which lies just three miles from the property in the village of Freshwater East, where the sheltered bay is home to an expansive stretch of golden sand, perfect for sunbathing, making sandcastles, beach games, and paddling.

On arrival at this property, guests are able to make themselves immediately at home in the sunny lounge, a light-filled room which offers views over the garden from the large patio doors, and where comfortable seating provides the perfect place to unwind in the evenings in front of the TV/DVD. Moving through to the kitchen/diner, guests will find a spacious room with a dining table in the centre and a good range of equipment including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. The property’s shower room offers a walk-in shower with an accessibility chair, and a WC. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, the first of these being a restful double room, whilst the second is a bright twin.

The property’s garden is accessed through the patio doors in the lounge: a generously-sized lawned space which is shared with the property’s owners and provides guests with plenty of room to relax and for children to play. There is ample off-road parking available on the driveway to the front of the property.

Everything you need from a holiday cottage - space, comfort, equipment, plus available and helpful hosts. We have stayed in lots of self-catering places across the UK over a number of years and this was easily the best.

Cottage had everything we needed. Owners very friendly and helpful, especially as we needed to go to A and E as we were not well.

Pristine cottage that is very comfortable and well equipped. Exactly like the photos! Quiet and peaceful location but within walking distance of the High Street. Friendly, helpful hosts and a great base for exploring.

Very comfortable and good quality fittings. Kitchen has all you need for self catering (which we did for 1 week for 4 of us). It is in a beautiful location. We did walks along the Mill ponds every morning with clear blue skies every day (23-30 March). Travelled around various parts of Pembroke. Highly recommend a visit to St David's. Some easy walkRead mores along coast but also did some very challenging ones. Freshwater East and Barafundle also recommended. Hide

Green Gables is a smashing cosy cottage, like home from home. A lovely, warm and friendly welcome from the owners and we appreciated the beautiful Christmas tree set up in the lounge.. The location is very quiet and makes it an ideal base for exploring Pembrokeshire, We would definitely recommend this holiday home.

The cottage was excellent, plenty to do and see in the area. We went to Lamphey Hall for a meal on our last night, and would be happy to recommend, the food was very good. If you enjoy vising castles ,there are plenty to see, but don`t waste your time going to Carmarthen as there is nothing to view.

We had a lovely stay at Green Gables cottage. It is well looked after and very comfortable, there is a lovely garden and my daughter especially liked the two pet rabbits. It is perfect for small families with young or older children.
