This delightful and cosy studio-style holiday cottage is set on a working farm, and is situated close to the picturesque village of Ripley and just 4 miles from the popular spa town of Harrogate.

This delightful cottage is situated just a short way from the picturesque village of Ripley with its beautiful castle and courtyard shops, and lovely walks around the lake. The popular spa town of Harrogate is just 4 miles away, and is home to the Valley Gardens, the Stray, the RHS Harlow Carr Gardens, Harrogate Theatre and a choice of great restaurants, pubs and tea rooms. You could also visit Ripon, famous for its cathedral and its racecourse, explore historic Knaresborough Castle, enjoy the famous Nidd Gorge walks, or visit Mother Shiptons Cave. You will also be ideally placed for the Yorkshire Dales, the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the vibrant city of York.

On entering this spacious and tastefully furnished cottage, you will find yourself in the attractive and welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom which features beautiful exposed beams and country views. Here you will find a cosy lounge with comfy seating, TV, DVD and radio, and a delightful dining area. Theres also a choice of books and games. Heading over to the kitchen you will find it fully equipped with an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. You will also find a comfortable super-king-size double bed, which can be made up as two single beds on prior request. Theres also a hallway for storing boots and shoes, with a vanity sink for hand washing, leading to a utility room with washer/dryer. You will also find a shower room complete with a walk-in shower and WC, both of which have grab rails.

Stepping outside, you will find the cottage has a choice of garden furniture and a BBQ area for you to relax. A BBQ is provided, but please bring charcoal. There is ample off-parking space for two cars. The owners are happy to show guests their working farm which has cattle, sheep and Clydesdale horses. Stabling is also available for guests horses if required. Please note, dogs are welcome but guests must respect the fact the owners have working farm dogs who may be territorial.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely location, nice friendly hosts, location set on a working farm, seeing all the animals outside your door was great. Nell and sky the owners dogs are absolutely brilliant.

A lovely property, well presented and located. It was wonderful to be amongst so many animals and wildlife. Kate was very good and we wanted for nothing (other than the chance to stay longer!).

Don't be fooled by the term 'studio'; this is a really spacious, bright and very comfortable place, in a great location. Spotlessly clean with rural life right on the doorstep. Easy walk to Ripley and many footpaths; worked well for the dogs. We left very chilled, and would return anytime.

We where made very welcome by the host Kate who welcomed us to look around the farm as we wished we were very comfortable and it was ideally situated for the placed we wanted to visit Harrogate with a great bus service from Ripley village, NT studley water garden was within easy driving distance and the lovely unspoilt village of Ripley

A lovely cottage set in a working farm, within walking distance of Ripley castle and a short drive to some beautiful countryside. Seeing the horses out the back of the garden was brilliant, and the hosts were incredibly friendly. Would definitely like to come back in the summer

Good location, very welcoming hosts and it was great to be able to see and bottle feed some of the lambs. There were also cows, hens, horses and a couple of friendly dogs. The accommodation was good and it was very handy for walking into Ripley.

We were warmly welcomed to Birchwood Stable Cottage by Kate and Pat, where we stayed for 2 weeks. The cottage was immaculately clean, spacious and very comfortable. It is well equipped with everything one could need in a self catering cottage. Being perfectly located between Harrogate and Ripon, it allows for easy exploration of North Yorkshire. A Read morebus service runs from the nearby village of Ripley every 20 minutes. The views across the meadows were superb. We soon made good friends with Pearl, the great Clydesdale Mare, who came for a chat every time we returned. After a day out, we looked forward to returning "home" to a peaceful, quiet and tranquil haven. We soon settled into daily farm life, by bottle feeding the lambs, placing hay and collecting eggs. Although Kate works like a trojan on the farm, she was never too busy to answer our questions on the area and Birchwood Farm, as well as give advice on local attractions and great places to eat. This is truly one of the best self catering cottages we've stayed in and is highly recommended. We can't wait to return "home" soon to once again experience true Yorkshire hospitality! Hide
