This characterful farmhouse in the heart of the village near Filey is ideal for families and couples providing the perfect base to enjoy all that the nearby beaches, walking and cycles trails have to offer.

This property is the perfect family getaway close to the seaside resort of Filey which has a wealth of amenities including shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and some glorious sandy beaches. Explore further afield and visit Bridlington and Scarborough or within an hour’s drive Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay, providing many other seaside attractions. Historic Whitby has beaches and the world-famous North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway and is also famous for its Captain Cook and Dracula connections. Walkers and Cyclists are spoilt for choice with coastal paths and the Wolds Way being easily accessible. Visit the RSPB reserve nearby and the headland with its dramatic chalk cliffs.

Enter into the hallway with the original tiled floors, uneven with wear in places adding to the ambience of this listed farmhouse, follow the hallway to the right and you will find the kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and dining table in front of the original range and bread oven. Leading off to the left of the hallway is the utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and where you will find games, bats and balls. There are plenty of hooks for coats and space for wellingtons. Opposite the kitchen is the dining room with the original Yorkshire sliding windows and a stunning dining table which seats ten. A doorway leads into the lounge, the perfect place to cosy up in front of the gas wood burner, leading through a further doorway, to the children's reading room and playroom with books and board games warmed by a cosy wood burner. At the end of the hallway you will find a quiet lounge to relax and watch a film on the TV/DVD or snuggle up and read a good book or connect an ipod to the Hi-Fi . Also off the hallway to the left, you will find two ground floor shower rooms with WCs. Heading up the cottage style staircase you with find five bedrooms, two king size, one small double and two twins and a bathroom with roll top bath, shower and WC.

Heading outside, there is an enclosed garden, a patio area with large table and seating for ten and a grassed area, with further seating to enjoy the views. There is off-road parking for four cars and a bicycle storage area.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Perfect location well appointed village with shops and places to eat,and transport links .Train station about a 15minute walk away,also bus available.

A lovely cottage with ample accommodation for 10 people. Very well equipped with a beautiful garden. Excellent value and located in a lovely, peaceful village- a three mile walk to Filey via the beach. We had a family gathering there and it exceeded our expectations.

We were a party of 10 for a long weekend and it was perfect. The location was brilliant and the facilities were spot on. The garden was great for sitting out and plenty or room for us all. We all had a fantastic time together.

We were a party of eight and stayed three nights in December. This warm, cosy, clean and well-equipped cottage is well-placed at the centre of the town, by the church (with tea room) and with a Co-op, two pubs with food, a Chinese take-away, small Boots and fish and chip shop on hand. The cottage worked very well for our family with five adults and five children. The garden was secure for our small dog. We spent a lot of time in the garden and the children set up table tennis on the outdoor table. It was also good to have a number of sitting rooms so we could have time to ourselves. If you are looking for a cottage to house a large gathering of family or friends up to 10 people plus 2 dogs, this property is ideal. It is also situated in a very nice village with all necessary amenities.
