A Grade II listed former stable sleeping six guests and offering a private indoor hot tub, situated within a few minutes’ walk of Knaresborough town centre in north Yorkshire.

This property is located alongside its sister property in an historic cobbled courtyard which was once home to the prestigious Royal Oak inn, which has since been converted to a private residence. The town is not only home to a good range of shops and eateries, but also has plenty to offer visitors in the way of tourist attractions including the medieval castle, courthouse museum, Mother Shiptons Cave, and the pretty esplanade which runs alongside the River Nidd. Just 3.5 miles from Knaresborough the town of Harrogate is well-known for its famous tearooms.

Stepping inside this cottage, guests come directly to the welcoming lounge where they will find two comfortable sofas, and a flame-effect electric fire. There is plenty to keep guests entertained for a quiet night in with a TV/DVD and a DAB radio as well as a selection of books and games. In the kitchen/diner there is enough space to comfortably seat six diners, alongside a good selection of equipment including an oven, hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer. The washing machine and tumble dryer, for those that need to do laundry whilst away, can be found in a separate utility room. Two of the property's bedrooms can be found on the first floor, both of which benefit from en-suite facilities. Both bedrooms are super-king-size rooms, each with zip-and-link beds which can be separated into twins on request. Bedroom One has an en-suite bathroom with a double-ended bath, handheld shower, and WC. Bedroom Two, meanwhile, offers an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower and WC. A second staircase from the lounge leads directly to the third bedroom, a studio-style room, again with a zip-and-link Kingsize bed. Under the stairs to this room, guests will find the property's hidden gem, a fully-tiled wet room which offers not just a shower and WC but also a fabulous six-seater hot tub. Please note that there is an extra charge per stay for use of the hot tub, which should be requested on booking and paid directly to the owner.

Outside the property there is a courtyard area which is shared with the neighbouring property and which offers a seating area with garden furniture and enough space to store two bikes. There is off-road parking available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • 3 super-king bedrooms (can be made up as twin rooms on request)
  • En-suite wet room with shower, hot tub, and WC (Please note the hot tub carries an additional charge of £80 per stay and must be requested at the time of booking)
  • TV/DVD, iPod dock, and DAB radio
  • Wi-Fi included
  • Oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and washer/dryer
  • Welcome tray provided
  • Bed linen, electric, and heating included
  • 2 dogs by arrangement
  • Bike storage for 2 bikes

Lovely, warm, comfortable cottage cleverly converted from old stables. On a busy road with a tricky turn into the yard but don't hear the traffic at all once you're inside. This house was a home from home and had everything to make you feel welcome. Only down side was the noise from the main road and that you couldn't have the door open without the owners dog wandering in
