Healey House was built in 1802 and has been sensitively restored in 2018 to provide a classic period property with 21st century amenities, providing a truly unique family holiday home.

Set in the Holme Valley on the edge of the Peak National Park and is close to the Pennine Way, offering fine walks and mountain biking. Alongside the natural beauty, the region hosts a range of cultural venues for all interests, all within easy reach, including The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Hepworth and The Media Museum, and Bradford. There are several heritage properties rich in history close by, including Nostell Priory National Trust, Salts Mill, Bronte Parsonage at Haworth and Harewood House. Enjoy some relaxation & treatments at the Titanic Spa in Huddersfield. Canon Hall Farm, Barnsely offers an extensive farm with animals, outdoor play areas, farm shop and cafe. The cities of York, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield are all an easy car journey or a direct train trip away.

The alcove hallway welcomes guests into the generous Georgian proportions, with a sweeping staircase and gracious rooms. The kitchen is bright and airy and presents a central marble island where guests can congregate. For the chefs in the party there is an electric range oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and two dishwashers. There is a kitchen table situated under the window which provides a lovely spot for breakfast. For more formal dining take to the classical dining room where a fine shell and leaf trompe l’oeil motif has been discovered under layers of old paint and wallpaper, a true taste of history. The dining room seats everyone comfortably with the option to add an additional table. Relax in the light and peaceful drawing room with large sofas with stunning views over the grounds, light the wood burner and curl up with a good book. The lounge, aptly named the Red Room has a gentleman's club feel, there is comfy seating by the wood burner and a projector to create a cinema room, so bring along your favourite DVD's to watch them on the big screen. All age family board games are available to play with an electric digital piano for some further entertainment. Also, on the ground floor is a king-size bedroom with an en-suite wet room. Completing the ground floor there is a smaller butlers kitchen tucked away in the corner of the property with electric oven and gas hob, fridge and dishwasher, and a separate WC. Heading upstairs to the first floor is a snug with TV, table football and a double sofa bed. There are two generous super-king-size bedrooms, which boast stunning high ceilings and huge bay windows with views over the grounds. There are then two nearby bathrooms, accessed down four steps, with roll top bath, separate shower and WC. Moving along the hallway there are two king-size bedrooms both with en-suite shower room and WC and a further king-size bedroom. Lastly there are two twin bedrooms and a further bathroom with shower over bath and WC. The utility room offers plenty space for coats and boots and has a washing machine and tumble dryer.

On warm days guests can relax and sit outside on the patio overlooking the garden and woodland, the gently sloping lawn provides plenty of room for garden games and to enjoy the summer sun. There are two ponds situated within the mature grounds and stone walls meaning parents must always supervise their children when outside. There is ample off-road parking.

Please note there is a refundable £500 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.
